It’s the most wonderful time of the year—and also the most stressful. Let’s be honest with ourselves… despite the festive lights and tinsel, the holiday season can be exhausting. So many of the anxieties that arise this time of year stem from the stress and expectations we feel about buying presents, the desire to be the perfect host for family and friends, or feelings of loneliness and grief if we are spending the holidays without loved ones.
With all the parties, dinners, concerts, and family responsibilities, it becomes easier for us to lose ourselves and get overwhelmed.
Ask yourself…do you get stressed about one or more of these things around the holidays:
- Do I have enough dietary alternatives planned for Christmas dinner?
- Will my Secret Santa that I barely know like the gift I chose for them?
- Did I get the right gift cards for my kids’ teachers?
- Will my family ask me about my plans for the future…(again!)?
- I have no idea what to make for the office potluck!
- Should I spend the same amount on gifts for the kids so no one feels like I’m playing favorites?
There’s a reason why the word, “present” means both a material gift and the gift of being fully here. The greatest gift you can give is arriving as your best self—fully present.
Take 15 minutes to step back and reset your nervous system so that you—and others—can fully experience you as your glorious, most present Self this holiday season.
Here’s how to do it:
- Download the Insight Timer App
- Follow this link to my 15-minute guided meditation entitled: Regulating the Nervous System with the Voo Breathing Method
- Find a quiet space, away from the chaos and get comfortable
- Listen and reset
- Arrive at the party as your best self!
Wishing you and your loved ones the happiest of holidays, full of wellness and joy!
Stay true to you,
Rebecca
